MYBI At-Large Board Member Responsibilities

Position intent: To develop a training system for coaches & players to understand the game of baseball to perform to the best of one’s abilities.

Position Description: The primary purpose of this position is to plan and organize training opportunities for players and coaches throughout the MYBI in-house and traveling programs to increase understanding, exposure and enjoyment of the game of baseball. . These opportunities would include conducting formal player instruction through camps and clinics, providing on-line development materials for coaches and players via the MYBI website and creating awareness of the many other development opportunities throughout the Metro area and via on-line resources

The secondary purpose is to support and assist other board members as required.

Position Details:

o To provide training materials for coaches at all levels of the MYBI organization through videos, on-line resources and face-to-face meetings.

o To bring baseball clinic and camp opportunities to the Mahtomedi area.

o To serve as a conduit for coaches to share best practices (practice drills, skill development, game management, etc.)

o To benchmark other youth baseball organizations for best training and development practices.

o To develop list of skill and development expectations for the various levels of the in-house and traveling programs.

o To oversee the pre-season training opportunities (e.g., weekly indoor training sessions).
