Travel Director Responsibilities

Position intent: To offer an enjoyable organized baseball experience for player and coaches without influence of others in regard to player placement.

Position Description: Plan and organize selection process for players and coaches for the MYBI travel program. Review, select and complete registration for travel tournaments; assist in the collection of prefunds paid out by MYBI for tournaments. Answer concerns of parents, players and coaches during the season. Assist other board members as required.

• Review and select the travel tournaments
• Select tryout location
• Organize tryout helpers
• Train the tryout helpers
• Gather, review and analyze data from tryout
• Create teams from the tryout data
• Review, interview and select coach for team
• Distribute uniforms to travel teams
• Answer questions from parents, players and coaches as required
• Collect the prefunded tournament monies
• Close out season, including collection of uniforms (12-15 year old teams) and review of coaches and players evaluation forms
• Attend monthly board meeting as required
